PAS 78

Make sure that your site is accessible and complaint with not just W3C standards but also PAS 78

Can you really afford to ignore millions of users? If your web site is one of the 87% of UK sites, then you're potentially missing out on customers and breaking the digital law.

A new document, PAS 78, created by BSI, was created to clarify how sites need to be accessible. As well as W3C's accessibility guidelines, PAS 78 doesn't tell you how to built accessible web sites, but does explain the quality and standard checks needed on all sites for them to be accessible.

I believe in an accessible web and I make sure that all the sites I create for my clients (even the Flash ones) are accessible. Accessibility is a big issue and you can find out more by reading up on the following:

As for PAS 78, you can get yourself a copy for about £30 in a variety of formats including: accessible PDF, large print, easy read, MS Word, audio, Braille and DAISY (what is this?).

To talk to me about your requirements, discuss a quote or ask for further advice and information, please contact Firestarter Media Group via the online form or email Firestarter Media Group on hello@firestartermedia.com.
