No Site, No Sales
WARNING: Not having a web site could seriously damage the health of your business or organisation!The web and business are now joint in one big fusion pot so businesses lacking a web site are not just lacking in competition but are also losing customers. Research commissioned by 1&1 concluded that 85% of the 1848 people who took part in a poll had doubts about buying from a company that didn't have a web site. One in five of UK SMEs don't even recognise the potential and importance that customers place on the internet.
The research also found out that most businesses had a bad idea of how long it would take and cost to have a web site created. over two thirds believed that it would take ten times longer to create a web site that it really is. Nearly two thirds over estimated the cost of a web site by over 400%! In addition, 73% addmitted they didn't feel confident tackling a build-your-own web site package.
The problem with not having a web site for your business comes down to a matter of trust, people won't buy if they don't trust it. As a customer, you have to ask "why doesn't this company have a web site?".
